– 1/2 cup ketchup
-1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
-1 1/2 tablespoon molasses
-1 1/2 tablespoons brown sugar
-1 1/2 teaspoon ground mustard
-1 1/2 teaspoon soy sauce
– 1 teaspoon garlic powder
-1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
-1/2 cup water
-salt and pepper to taste
(To be honest, I think I added a dash more molasses, Worcestershire, and soy sauce– oh, and a “shake” of cayenne pepper! Fee free to add a dash of whatever your taste buds tell you to add!
Simmer ingredients on low to medium low heat for about 30 minutes, or until sauce thickens.
This recipe is suppose to be for grilled chicken, but since I don’t have a gas grill (and I wasn’t in the mood to mess with my little charcoal Webber…)
Season two chicken breasts with salt and pepper. Brown chicken in pan, then add enough sauce to coat the chicken (as much, or as little as you like). Reduce heat, and let chicken and sauce simmer until done (about 20 minutes.)
This sauce is sweet and tangy… and tastes just like BBQ sauce is suppose to taste! If you don’t use all of the sauce, pour in a sealed glass jar and refrigerate.

This sounds good, even though they make BBQ sauce the wrong way where you are from 😉 I am going to try it this weekend with my pork shoulder. I’ll report back with results!
